History

I grew up with Commodore machines, namely the C16 and C64, but when this machine hit the market I really wanted one. It looked so different from any other machine on the market and I felt it was a more professional machine.

As it turned out, time passed and although I used one that my friend owned, I never got one of my own. 

UNTIL NOW…. I spent along time searching Ebay for just the right machine, and this was has been fully refurbished and future proofed and has that all important colour monitor.

HARDWARE

This machine has recently undergone a full service & refurbishment, which involves 3 hours work on average which includes but is not limited to:

full strip down to completely empty case, motherboard edge connector clean, all mounted IC chips re-sealed, capacitors checked for leakage, sockets and connector checked, keyboard stripped and cleaned, all keyboard switches checked and cleaned, cassette mechanism opened up, cleaned, heads cleaned, de-magnetised and alignment checked, drive belt counter replaced with new, on/off switch and volume control mechanism removed, cleaned internally and lubricated with a final re-assemble, valet and test.

Keyboard is in very good condition for its age and the tape machine has had a brand new drivebelt replacement, a really nice keyboard.

Monitor

A CTM 640 colour monitor (working with a good picture). Casing is in great condition for its vintage age, 2 lugs are missing at the back for the power lead to wrap around, but does not affect the working of the monitor at all.

Software

Comes the original Amstrad 12 games pack + Amstrad welcome demonstration tape + 20 other games / programmes for your enjoyment including but not limited to Ghost Busters, Indiana Jones, and Robocop – 33 in total.

Other bits with the sale

Comes with working Joystick, Amstrad Manual and 1 Computing with the Amstrad magazine for your enjoyment + a reminder of the material around back in the day.
